The annual club meeting/trail work weekend was held on October 31-November 2nd. Members came up to participate in the meeting and help maintain the wonderful trails that we all ride! The majority of trail work week end was dedicated to constructing a new bridge for the 66 reroute. Thanks to Lindy, Derek, Peter, Jeff, Mike, Chris, Fred, and Richie for getting this project done. There is still work to be done to get this trail open, and there is a lot of signing that has to happen before the season starts. Members who attend and helped get the trails ready were able to stay at the Kokadjo Cabins & Trading Post courtesy of Fred and Marie (thank you). If you do any work on the bridge or the trails, please make sure that Marie has record of your time. Saturday night was the annual potluck feast and election of officers. The prime rib, pot pie, beans, jalapeño poppers, sausage with peppers and onions, awesome pumpkin squares and cake etc., etc., were all awesome. YUM! The results of the election were: Richie Alexander, President, Andy Diskes, Vice President, Joy Idman, Treasurer, Heidi Mansir, Secretary, Fred Candeloro, Trail Master and Jeff Gagnon, Clerk. A great time was had by all!! If you have not renewed your membership, it’s time! If you need a copy of the membership form you can print a copy of the membership application from the website. The groomer is fixed and we are back on a regular grooming schedule. After a leaking main pump and a blown track, Fred says the only thing that has not had to be fixed this year is the cab! So, weather permitting we will be out there. Thanks Fred, Bob, Jeff, John and Andy for all of your work to get the groomer back up and running. There have been some updates to our trail system. There is some logging on the NFG trail so we will be re-routing to avoid this. Check out the webpage http://www.kokadjoroachriders.org for current trail conditions. Or, you can “like” us on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/krrsc and you will be able to find links to updated information there as well. We are also going to be updating the Business Member section of our website. If you are a business member and would like your company information displayed on our website, please email your information to heidimansir@kokadjoroachriders.org as soon as possible. If you have not renewed your membership, it’s time. If you need a copy of the membership form you can print a copy of the membership application from the website. Happy riding!!!!!! Heidi Mansir Club Secretary, KRRSC Hello Roach Riders,
The weather is starting to get cool and the snow flurries have begun, the last storm left a light covering of white. Hopefully these early storms are just the beginning of a great season! Usually, October is a quiet month for club news, but this year we have four important pieces of information to share;

People are riding! It has been very cold this week, good grooming weather! This cold weather is helping to hold a solid base on the trails. We are on a regular grooming schedule and both of the groomers are back up and running now. The trails are in good shape! There is some fine riding to be had!! Hope to see you soon. Happy Trails! Hello Roach Riders,
Finally, people are riding! Fred and crew are not grooming yet but the trails are passable. We have had riders come in from the Jackman area and from the Schoodic Lake area. We have an icy base with three to four inches of cover. However, please be extremely cautious crossing any body of water, the temperature has varied from day to day here and the ice is not reliably safe. Look forward to seeing you soon. Happy Trails! |
